Mary E. Valier

Mary E. Valier, 98, of Du Quoin, passed away at 1:50 P.M., Sunday, May 2, 2004 at the Fair Acres Nursing Home in Du Quoin.
Mary was a homemaker.  She was a member of Paradise Baptist Church in Tamaroa.  She was a member of Perry County Homemakers Association, Gold Plate and Perry County Senior Citizens.
She was born November 21, 1905 at Perry County, IL, the daughter of Edgar and Belle (Wilks) Marlow.
She married Floyd A. Valier on September 1, 1927 at Du Quoin and he preceded her in death on July 5, 1953.
She is survived by two sons - Stanley F. Valier and Richard G. Valier, both of Du Quoin, three daughters - Mary Jane Lee, Frances Milam and Ruth Ann Hammond, all of Du Quoin, twelve grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter - Margery Prior, six brothers and sisters - Wilks Marlow, Irene Eaton, Hubert Marlow, Leslie Marlow, Orval Marlow and Pauline Cook, one grandson and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services were at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Shaw DeMent officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Paradise Cemetery at Tamaroa.
